Dear Colleagues and Fellow Leaders of the Global Speakers Federation,

As we step into this new chapter together, I am reminded of the core values that have guided us throughout our careers: unity, integrity, and respect. These values are more than just words; they are the foundation upon which we will build a stronger and more cohesive federation.

No association is an island. No matter how innovative or successful we might be on our own, our true strength lies in our ability to grow together. GSF is about more than just building stronger associations; it’s about creating a vibrant community where we can all thrive side by side. Our North Star is clear: we are here to help each other learn, improve, and succeed. Together, we support the leaders of the associations we serve.

Reflecting on my journey, from my days as a competitive swimmer and coach to my work with 67 professional sports teams and 38 boards of directors, I’ve learned that success comes from relationships—how we uplift and inspire one another. As your president, my goal is to foster an environment where every leader feels empowered to share their insights, learn from their peers, and build on the legacy of those who came before us.

We are not just thinking about today; we are strategically planning for the future, aiming to improve each of our associations within GSF that support the speaking profession. By helping each other, sharing our knowledge, and embracing diverse perspectives, we ensure that our associations remain at the forefront of our industry.

In closing, I extend my heartfelt thanks to each of you for your trust, commitment, and partnership. Your dedication, passion, and expertise make GSF a thriving and supportive community. Let’s embrace the opportunities that lie ahead, forge new connections, and inspire one another as we continue to make a difference.

Presidential Leadership Team

The Presidential Leadership Team consists of the GSF President, President-Elect, Vice President, Immediate Past President, and Executive Director. The Presidential Leadership Team serves as the interim governing body between meetings of the GSF Board of Directors.

Board of Directors

The GSF Board of Directors, which meets quarterly, consists of a representative from each GSF member association and each has one vote. In addition, the GSF President, GSF President-Elect, GSF Vice President, GSF Immediate Past President, and GSF Executive Director serve as voting members of the Board.

Steering Committee

The Steering Committee consists of nine members, namely:

• the Board member from each of the three largest member associations (as determined by membership count based on dues paid, 30 days prior to the Annual General Meeting)

• the Board member from two of the remaining member associations (elected annually by the two highest votes cast by the GSF Board of Directors)

• the GSF President, GSF President-Elect are voting members of the Steering Committee, while the GSF Vice President, and GSF Executive Director are non-voting, ex-officio members.
