
MEMBER ASSOCIATION AWARDS
The associations that make up our wonderful industry often honor their most distinguished members by establishing prestigious awards. Below is a listing of the current awards arranged by member association.
Conférencier Professionnel Labellisé (Labeled Professional Speaker)
To obtain this certification, professionals must provide information on their professional activity, have a professional web presence, and take a live exam in front of their peers at an AFCP monthly event.
Maître de Cérémonie Professionnel Labellisé (Labeled Professional Master of Ceremony)
To obtain this certification, professionals have to provide information on their professional activity, need to have a professional web presence, and are going through a live exam in front of their peers at an AFCP monthly event.
APSS Presidents' Award
The APSS Presidents’ Award is chosen and awarded by the Immediate Past President and the current President. It is given to a member who has exceeded all expectations in providing support over a period of time, or has worked tirelessly for APSS and its members over and above all expectations on a specific project or projects.
Spirit of Service Awards
The APSS Spirit of Service Award is given to a member who has provided significant support or help to APSS and its members during the year, or has done substantial work on an important project during the year. The awardee is chosen by the APSS Executive Committee. More than one award may be issued if warranted.
Speaker Hall of Fame
The APSS Speakers Hall of Fame is designed to find and put the spotlight on people who demonstrate the exemplary. These people have committed within themselves to the everyday disciplines that lead to mastery. They constantly refine and develop their ways to communicate so others may be enriched. They are raised up so that others might see what excellence looks like in action. And they themselves are encouraged to continue to be great role models, sources of inspiration, points of reference and diverse images of excellence for us all. They are leading lights in our profession.
Canadian Speaker Hall of Fame
The Canadian Speaking Hall of Fame honours individuals who have been recognized for their excellence as a professional speaker, their dedication to educating others to excel, and their commitment to the professional speaking industry. Members are selected by their peers in recognition of their contributions, and The Hall of Fame award is presented at the CAPS National Convention.
Peter Legge Philanthropic Award
The CAPS Peter Legge Philanthropic award is given each year when warranted to an individual who demonstrates the principles of philanthropy and stewardship through their actions and outcomes.
Warren Evans Spirit of CAPS
This prestigious service award recognizes substantial and sustained contribution to CAPS and its members. The Warren Evans Spirit of CAPS is typically awarded to one CAPS member each year who has:
Demonstrated a long term, extraordinary level of commitment and dedication to CAPS;
Demonstrated the spirit of sharing, leading and inspiring other CAPS members;
Demonstrated professionalism and adherence to the mission, vision and values of CAPS;
Gained the respect and admiration of CAPS members across the country;
Been a proactive and positive proponent for CAPS in the speaking community and beyond.
CAPS President’s Award
This award is given to a member or members, at the discretion of the President, for outstanding contribution and service to the association during the President’s year in office.
GSA Academy Professional Speaker
Certificate of completion of GSA's one-year speaker training program. The course comprises 40 half-day presentation seminars over 10 weekends and teaches all aspects of Professional Speaking. The award ceremony takes place after successful completion of the exam at the GSA Convention Gala. Separate honors are given for the year's best speaker and the best keynote. Certification includes:

German Speakers Hall of Fame (HoF): Lifetime Achievement Award
The Hall of Fame is the GSA's highest recognition of the lifetime achievements of outstanding personalities in the continuing education industry and is governed by strict criteria. Each year, up to 3 speakers are formally honored at the GSA Convention Gala Evening. The illustrious list of past award winners reads like a Who's Who of the industry. The members are elected by a committee of colleagues, the current GSA Presidium and annually changing representatives of the GSA membership and do not have to be members of the GSA.
Innovation Award
Occasion-related award for outstanding industry innovations in the fields of product development, services, marketing/PR or performance. The award is presented at the annual GSA Convention in irregular order following an defined application process.
GSA Newcomer Award
After a multi-stage screening process, an expert audience consisting of representatives from event agencies and speaker buyers selects the best newcomer of the year in a final round of judging.
GSA President’s Award
Annual award presented by the respective GSA president for outstanding commitment to the association.
Honorary Membership
Honoring individuals who have rendered outstanding services to the association, as decided by the general meeting.
Honorary Presidency
Honoring past presidents who have rendered outstanding services to the association, as decided by the general meeting.
Council of Peers Award for Excellence (CPAE)® Speaker Hall of Fame
This designation honors professional speakers who have reached the top echelon of platform excellence. Admission into the CPAE Speaker Hall of Fame is a lifetime award for speaking excellence and professionalism.
Cavett Award
This is the most cherished NSA award and is presented annually to the member whose accomplishments reflect outstanding credit, respect, honor, and admiration in the NSA and the speaking profession. It is presented annually to the member whose actions (in terms of sharing, guiding, and inspiring other members) most closely parallel the illustrious career of NSA US Co-Founder Cavett Robert, CSP, CPAE.
Registered Speaking Professional (RSP)
The PAPS RSP is given to our members who qualify for half the requirements of CSP. We do this to help our members prepare their documentation should they apply as CSP.
Certified Webinar Speaker (CWS)
The PAPS CWS is given to those who qualify as an online presenter through their basic skills and knowledge in virtual presentations such as basic camera positioning, lighting, and other technical skills.
Breakthrough Speaker of the Year
The PAPS RSP is given to our members who qualify for half the requirements of CSP. We do this to help our members prepare their documentation should they apply as CSP.
Industry Partner of the Year
The PAPS CWS is given to those who qualify as an online presenter through their basic skills and knowledge in virtual presentations such as basic camera positioning, lighting, and other technical skills.
Educator of the Year Award

If you have attended at least 2 years of events ( 20) we recognise the knowledge you have gained by an Award. This is being revamped at the moment, and we are looking to see what happens with certifications and standardisation around the GSF before we do something new that is out of alignment.

Southern African Educator Hall of Fame (SAEHoF)
This award reflects outstanding success in the field of professional training, consulting, coaching, or other closely related fields and reflects extraordinary acknowledgment, respect, and admiration of the members of the PSASA. The inductee is a learner, teacher, designer, and deliverer of educational experiences of consistently high quality and originality.
Southern African Speaker Hall of Fame (SASHoF)
This award reflects outstanding success in the field of professional keynote speaking and reflects extraordinary acknowledgement, respect, and admiration of the members of the PSASA. Professional Speakers Association of Southern Africa, and by default of the speaking industry as a whole. The SASHoF inductee is a professional keynote presenter who demonstrates the very highest level of platform skills and delivers educational experiences of consistently high quality and originality.
Stef du Plessis Founder’s Award - (SdPFA
This is the highest honor in PSASA and recognizes a PSASA member whose outstanding contribution to the Association and to the speaking industry over the years have earned the utmost respect, honour, and admiration in the association and the profession. Their actions have consistently epitomised sharing, guiding, supporting, and encouraging other members.
Professional Speaking Award of Excellence (PSAE)
This is the highest status within the Professional Speaking Association (United Kingdom and Ireland) and is by invitation only on the decision of the Professional Speaking Association (United Kingdom and Ireland) Board of Directors.
Honorary Fellowship
This is presented to an individual, whether a member of PSA UKI or not, who has demonstrated service to the profession of speaking and/or to the PSA. The recipient is decided by the Board of Directors.
The President's Award
This award is presented by an out-going National President to an individual of their choice for any reason that the President considers makes them worthy.
The Spirit of Joy Award
Named after our 2019 National President, the late Joy Marsden, this award is presented to an individual who it is felt has best embodied the spirt that Joy brought to everything she did, namely joy, energy, resilience, selflessness, a desire to serve others and a willingness to support her fellow speakers, with tough love when needed. The recipient is decided by the Board of Directors with input from the operational team.
